Springtime in Boulder

In order to have a 'home base' for the wedding, we stayed in a hotel close to the Butterfly Pavillion. It was nice, but nobody got much sleep, between Jackson's hyperactivity and Patrick's unhappiness with the Pack n' Play. However, it turned out to be a great idea for the next day. The morning after the wedding, we went swimming in the hotel's indoor pool, which we had to ourselves. It was Patrick's first time in deep water, and Jason's first time with either boy in the water this year. We had a great time splashing around together. After we checked out, we decided to drive the 20 minutes into Boulder and walk around Pearl Street. It was gorgeous! The drive was really pretty, with the Flatirons in the distance, and all the flower beds along the mall were filled with beautiful tulips, in a riot of colors. We had a great time, tasting gelato at a new shop, browsing the best candy store I've ever see (they had all this old-school candy and knick knacks), and listening to a 'princess' tell a story. She was really a nice lady in an old prom dress, but who cares? Jackson hopped around on this playground area while Jason and I enjoyed our coffee. Then we stopped in for lunch before hitting the road. We decided not to give the steroid this morning, but it still had residual effects on Jackson. He talked the ENTIRE 45-minute drive home. I kid you not. If he wasn't actually trying for a conversation with us, he was singing to himself, wiggling and dancing in his carseat. I will be so happy if he never needs it ever again.
