Our first stop was the Morris family--right next door.
Mine, all mine! Jackson was so excited to put his puppy dog costume back on and go Trick or Treating. "Puppy nose, Mommy! Dots!" as he waited for me to paint his face. We went up and down Royal Street, and although we heard that all the stores along Ferdinand had candy, we passed them by. Everyone thought Jackson was soooo cute, and he quickly collected quite a haul of goodies. We walked through (literally) the Methodist carnival, but it would have required way too much focus for both Jackson and us, so we just went home. Of course Jackson was entirely too wired to hit the hay, so we all sat on the front porch and handed out candy together. He loved it until one kid with one of those 'bleeding' masks leered at him and scared him into screaming tears. The kid's mom scolded him, "He's just a baby!", and Jackson quickly got over it, so we stayed out. Lots of friends came by, and we saw pirates, witches, princesses, and assorted other ghouls.
The nerve of some people! One girl came by and we gave her some candy. Fifteen minutes later, she came back, and Jason heard her mother ask, "Did you go here yet?" She answered yes. "Are you sure?" her mother pressed. "Yes," she answered. "Well go back anyway." (!!!) So she came back, I gave her a smaller helping (because I remembered her), and she had the GALL to complain that she wanted the other kind of candy in my basket! However, that was only a small blemish on an otherwise very fun evening. Guess we handed out good treats because nobody played any tricks on us.
