Jenny and Derek Henry hosted a first birthday party for their youngest son, Drew. In the spirit of Oprah's Big Give, in lieu of gifts, they asked for donations or frozen meals for their neighbors, the Miller family. The wife, Jen, was diagnosed in January with pancreatic cancer, and with three kids (8, 9, and 11), Ray has been a little overwhelmed. The children enjoyed playing outside and swapping bikes, trikes and scooters around. After cake and ice cream, each child was given a decorated envelope with their name on it and $5 inside instead of party favors. One by one, they slipped their envelopes into the donation box. It was a neat way to get them involved in helping others, and a big help to the Miller family. Happy birthday, Drew, and thanks for a great giving opportunity!
