Signing at St. Luke's

Jackson's teacher, Ms. Maria, was intrigued that Jackson signs. She has asked several times for some basic signs, and requested that I come teach a few to the class. Jackson was excited about the idea, but when it came time to do it, he was less thrilled. He liked being 'up front' of his class, so they all had to pay attention to him, but I think he got a little shy. I had thought we'd be one of the first activities of the day, but as it turned out, Patrick and I got to be flies on the wall for the whole morning (sort of). It was surprising how little attention the children paid us as they went about their routine, and I was glad of the opportunity to observe their dynamics. We did a little attention-getting song, then Jackson and I taught them the manners song from Signing Time. It seemed to go over well, and I sure had a good time. You can learn more about Signing Time here.
