We woke up early Thanksgiving morning and loaded up our double jogger with all our warmest duds. First we went to the Vests' house for some breakfast casseroles, homemade bagels and specialty coffees and teas. Most of the family met us over there, and after we fueled up, we drove down to Washington Park for the annual Turkey Trot 5k race. It was a windy 20 degrees, but warmed up a bit through the race. Most of us walked, but Skip, Lorie and Raymond ran at least part of the time. The Hills, Vests, Snyders, Castellanos and Currys were there, but we missed the Hales (too cold for tiny Ashlyn). This is a fun tradition we want to continue, and it sure makes that big turkey dinner easier to manage!
