There were a few tears before Mother and Daddy head to the airport.
There was so much debate about when Mother was going to come stay with us after Patrick was born, mostly because Nancy was due at just about the same time. Since Laurel was born four days before Patrick, it worked out nicely for Mother to stay with Nancy for her first week as a mother, then come out with Dad to see us. This delivery was much easier (and shorter!!), so I really got to enjoy their visit. There are definitely different challenges with two children, and it was great to have help. One of the best parts was the freezer full of food Mom left, with extra cookie dough ready to bake. It was wonderful to have Mother and Daddy here to celebrate Jackson's birthday, too. I was not ready for them to go, but I'm so glad and thankful that they came.
