St. Luke's New Orleans, newly rebuilt after Katrina, was the site of Ann's Ordination to the Deaconate.
Ann and another priest prepare for Communion.
Ann and Father Holmgren, etc. administer Communion.
Andrew is so proud of Ann!
Dad, Ann and Mother after the ceremony. We are all so proud of Ann! It's amazing that she only has one semester left of seminary, and then she'll be ordained to the priesthood. It was so neat to see Ann in the midst of all those priests, knowing that she's nearly one of them. The church was in a sketchy neighborhood that was still rebuilding after Katrina. The church itself had flooded, and was still being redone when we were there. The bathrooms were primitive at best, but the church looked nice. I think the Bishop chose this site with all that in mind. He must have thought it would have a bigger impact on all the families and friends of the new deacons to see how far there is to go in the work of the church.
